Procedures of Enrollment
1. Application Materials
1) SISU Application Form (Degree Programs), available at http://www.oisa.shisu.edu.cn.
2) Diploma and academic record in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese. Applicants, who are about to graduate, can submit a certification of upcoming graduation.
3) Photocopy of HSK certificate; IELTS certificate (only for Translation (Chinese - English) program).
4) Applicants who want to be enrolled as a Sophomore shall also submit the certificate of full-time Chinese training and academic records in original or notarized copy in English or Chinese.
5) Photocopy of passport.
6) 4 passport photos (in size of 5cm * 4cm).
7) Application fee: 450 RMB (or 75 USD).
8) Entrance Examination fee: RMB 300 (or 50 USD), only for majors at Songjiang Campus.
★ If necessary, SISU will require applicants to submit some additional materials.
★ Application fee is non-refundable, payable in cash or remittance (T/T). Checks are not acceptable.
★ Please be advised not to enclose any cash in your mail.
2. Acceptance and Visas
1) Application materials.
2) Once accepted, the applicant will receive an Acceptance Letter and a “Visa Application for Foreigners Wishing to Study in China” (Form JW202), and a Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners.
★ Applicants, who would apply after the application deadline, will only receive the Acceptance Letter and need to get an entry visa to China on their own.
3) The applicant would have to take a physical examination to apply for the entry visa, using the received form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners. The physical examination must be taken in a national or public hospital in his/her own country no longer than 4 months prior to the date he/she is required to register at SISU. If the applicant is in China, he/she may take the physical examination at the local Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.
★ Applicants with a valid Chinese Residence Permit don’t need to take a physical examination.
4) With these documents the applicant can go to the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate for visa application(X1 only).
★ Be sure to have all the above-mentioned documents back after the visa application, which will be required for applying for a residence permit in China.
3. Registration
The applicant shall bring the Acceptance Letter, Form JW202, Physical Examination Record for Foreigners (with original copies of test reports/data sheets attached) and passport to register with SISU at required time when he/she is required to pay the tuition and fees and buy insurance. The applicant must inform the Office of International Student Affairs in advance if he/she can’t register in time. Those who are late without reasons would be regarded as disqualified for enrollment.
★ Please be advised your Physical Examination Record (with all test reports) must be verified and certified by Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau after the registration. If it fails the verification, you will have to take the physical examination again.
